BYRON SAMUELS MAKES FIRST STATEMENTS SINCE BECOMING BULLSNAKES BASKETBALL NEW GENERAL MANAGER

It is with great energy and excitement that I join the New Mexico Bullsnakes ABA Basketball team and organization. I am a self professed hoop junkie, and was blessed to coach at the collegiate level for 28 years and work with building the NBA Academy in China. Growing up in North Carolina I loved going to watch the Carolina Cougars of the ABA, and while in Tampa I was involved with the Tampa Bay Rain of the ABA.

A little over a year ago I moved to Albuquerque and was introduced to Nick Lourenco by former UNM Lobo Devon Williams. After having a few conversations with Nick about his vision for the Bullsnakes, The City of Albuquerque and the ABA, I was honored and humbled when he asked me to join the organization. I look forward to assisting Nick and the Bullsnakes organization in any and every way that I can. Albuquerque is a great basketball city. I have enjoyed going to college and high school games throughout the city and state since moving to Albuquerque and have found that hoop fans have great energy, are knowledgeable and want a product that they can be proud of, be apart of and support. We are hopeful that our style of basketball is a winning one and will attract fans and hoop junkies alike. We want to also reach out to the Albuquerque community with our commitment to service, charitable organizations and our support youth sports. We recognize that we have to earn and build our fan base in Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico. Albuquerque is a super sports town as evidenced by support for the Isotopes, New Mexico United, the Ice Wolves and obviously the University of New Mexico and Lobo Nation. The ABA has always strived to make basketball entertaining for its fans and we will work to do the same with the New Mexico Bullsnakes ABA organization.

Thank you.
