Head Coach Bb Rico will be leading the Bullsnakes for their second ABA season. Head Coach Rico
navigated the inaugural season with success, finishing with a 9-3 record. The Bullsnakes missed the
playoffs due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Head Coach Rico is an Albuquerque native who played for Del Norte high school where he became a
1992 North/South All-Star. After high school, coach Rico entered coaching at Del Norte high school
under Mike Huston. Coach Rico ran the C-team and JV programs from 1995-2002.
Starting in 2002, coach Rico began coaching boys AAU for the New Mexico Blue Storm, where he won
the 2003 12U National Championship. Coach Rico returned to Del Norte high school to run the JV
program from 2006-2012 under Head Coach Gerome Espinosa.
In 2012, coach Rico returned to the New Mexico Blue Storm to coach his son’s AAU youth team up until
2018. Coach Rico is a certified official referee for the state of New Mexico. He has been officiating high
school, tournaments, and other events since 2012.
The Bullsnakes are excited to have Head Coach Bb Rico back for another run towards the playoffs.
Head Coach Bb Rico is married to Julie his wife of 18 years. Together they have three children Alexis
(24), Hailee (14), and Brendan (11).
Outside of basketball, coach Rico loves to spend time with family and continue his passion for basketball.
He is also an avid motorcycle enthusiast.

Patrick Gonzales

Patrick Gonzales will be entering the second season for the Bullsnakes as Team Manager. Patrick is
responsible for stats and other tasks related to game day operations. Patrick handles many of the functions
for practice and games. Patrick also helps with player relations.
Patrick is a valuable assistant to Head Coach Bb Rico. He is a graduate of Del Norte high school. The
Bullsnakes are excited to Patrick back for the second season.
Outside of basketball, Patrick loves to work on exotic cars and spend time with family.
